This 1891 Menston map is a composite produced from 4 separate maps of the 187 Yorkshire County series maps from 1891. They have carefully been blended together and re-positioned so that Menston is now shown in its full glory on just one map. This work have been lovingly crafted by hard work and with a little Photoshop magic!! It covers a wide area but maintains a high level of detail. Nestled under the Rombalds Moors, Menston was a village that housed the County Lunatic Asylum which opened in 1888. The facility provided employment for local residents and surrounding areas.
